Great for beginners! Come make a design using buttons and beginning embroidery. You will need a piece of felt approximately 12” square, scissors, thread, pins, and hand- sew needles.
Join us as we have fun, create together, and learn a new craft.
Free Sew Fridays
We have a no-cost sew day each Friday weekly. 10:30 - when you are done (or 4:30)
Bring your machine (or handwork) and the project you are working on. A good time to get to know people.

Melanie Gaham
Melanie was a high school teacher in LaConner for 24 years. About 10 years ago she learned about the button blankets that the Haida and Tlinglet people create and use. She started to make replicas. Eventually she moved away from indigenous designs and created her own style. Most of the buttons and fabric that she incorporates into her work are recycled, which is important to her.
We are happy Melanie is teaching a new craft at Cascade Fabrics.
